Baseball Recap: Suncoast Takes a Loss

Suncoast fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Royal Palm Beach on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-3. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Suncoast saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Kay, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Emmett Hasey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Suncoast now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Royal Palm Beach, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Suncoast will take on Lincoln Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Royal Palm Beach, they will challenge Boca Raton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
