Basketball Game Preview: Maricopa Indians vs. Alpaugh Buffalos

Maricopa hasn't had much luck against Alpaugh recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Maricopa Indians will take on the Alpaugh Buffalos in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. Alpaugh took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Maricopa, who comes in off a win.

Maricopa is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 54-3 victory over Shandon. With the Indians ahead 31-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Maricopa found their leader in sophomore Michael Grysko, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 21 boards, and ten steals. With that strong performance, Grysko is now averaging an impressive 3.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Aidan Roa, who went 10 of 19 en route to 22 points.

Meanwhile, Alpaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Tranquillity 61-30.

Maricopa pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.0 points per game. As for Alpaugh, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Maricopa strolled past Alpaugh when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 48-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maricopa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
