Basketball Recap: Gibbon Buffaloes vs. Shelton Bulldogs
After flying high against Harvard last Friday, Gibbon came back down to earth. The Gibbon Buffaloes took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shelton Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Buffaloes lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 75-46 score last time.
Ben Myers was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds for Shelton. With that strong performance, Myers is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Jaxson Ohlman was another key player, going 8 of 14 on his way to 25 points and three steals.
Gibbon's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Shelton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
