The Sanger Indians will take on the Memorial Mavericks at 12:30  p.m.  on Monday. Sanger's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so Memorial's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Sanger will roll into the  game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any  runs  last Saturday, then bounced right back against Muenster  on Tuesday. Sanger blew past Muenster 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.

 Leala Kloewer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 12 batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5.1  strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  home run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Tarryn Liechty, who  went 2-for-5 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. That's the most  runs  she has posted  over her last 14  contests. Another player making a difference was  Sophia Troegle, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Sanger was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .469. They are undefeated (4-0) when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Memorial sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-5  victory over Haskell  on Friday. That's two games straight that the Mavericks have won by  just one  run.
  Ella Gollihugh was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-2. She also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season.  Ella Dawson was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI.
 The  win made it two in a row for Memorial and  bumps their season record up to 10-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Sanger, they now  have a winning record of 6-5-4.
 Sanger came out on top in a nail-biter against Memorial when the teams last played  back in February, sneaking past  1-0. Will Sanger repeat their success,  or does  Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
