Volleyball Recap: Newman Fighting Cardinals vs. West Salem Panthers

Newman was the 2-0 winner over West Salem when they last played one another back in September of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Fighting Cardinals fell 2-0 to the Panthers on Saturday. The Fighting Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Camille Sobolewski paced Newman's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sobolewski got some help from Lexi Rice and her 13 assists. Lauren Thiel and Madison Keene kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Newman now has a losing record of 4-5. As for West Salem, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Newman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Kewaskum on the 30th. As for West Salem, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Oconto Falls on the 30th.
