Gateway hadn't done well against Celebration recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Gateway Panthers who were credited with the win. The Gateway Panthers got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Celebration Storm's three. The victory was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

Gateway's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those seven matches. As for Celebration, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Gateway and Jones will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
