Baseball Recap: UME Preparatory Academy Has No Trouble Against Hill County

While UME Preparatory Academy put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Hill County. The UME Preparatory Academy EAGLES were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Hill County Wolves. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 on Tuesday.

Trenton Smedema looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaden Phelps, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Connor Thapa was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

The victory made it two in a row for UME Preparatory Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-17-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for Hill County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, UME Preparatory Academy will take on Texas Wind at 5:00 p.m. on March 27th. Hill County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
