Baseball Recap: Lehi Takes Down Ranked Ridgeline

Lehi faced Ridgeline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Riverhawks with a sharp 9-3 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lehi got a great performance from Sean Mcafee as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Brandon Manookin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Ybarra, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Lehi always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Lehi and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Ridgeline, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Lehi will welcome Westlake at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Ridgeline, they will head out to challenge Ogden at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Riverhawks are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
