After a string of four wins, Harleton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Overton Mustangs by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Harleton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessie Finley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Harleton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-12. As for Overton, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8-1.

While Harleton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
