Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Kimball's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tracy, Kimball was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lincoln Trojans a 5-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Briana Quintero tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February.

At the plate, Kimball saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Iolana Faasisila, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Kimball has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kimball beat the Trojans by a score of 10-6 on Tuesday.
