Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Sterling's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Sterling won the last time they faced Galena Park, and Destiny Lewis did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sterling Raiders walked away with a 57-48 win over the Galena Park Yellowjackets on Friday thanks in part to Lewis, who went 11 for 21 en route to 27 points along with seven assists and six steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sterling's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Morrow, who posted four points in addition to 13 rebounds and three blocks. Morrow is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Sterling is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-13 record this season. As for Galena Park, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.

Looking ahead, Sterling will take on Randle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Randle will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Sterling surely won't give up without a fight. Galena Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
