Basketball Game Preview: Canterbury Cougars vs. Riverdale Raiders

After both having extra time off, the Canterbury Cougars and the Riverdale Raiders will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canterbury is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Last Thursday, Canterbury lost to Oasis at home by a 56-37 margin.

Despite the loss, Canterbury saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Charles Minton posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Riverdale played a tough game last Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 82-21 defeat at the hands of Cape Coral. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-13.

Markaylen Dunlap was Riverdale's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Canterbury's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Canterbury came up short against Riverdale in their previous matchup back in January, falling 69-63. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
