Basketball Game Preview: Ninilchik Wolverines vs. Homer Mariners

The Ninilchik Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Homer Mariners at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Ninilchik is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Nanwalek with a sharp 87-64 win on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Homer posted their biggest win since February 13, 2024 on Saturday. They blew past North Pole, posting a 67-40 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Mariners as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ninilchik's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Homer, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Ninilchik strolled past Homer when the teams last played last Saturday by a score of 72-58. Does Ninilchik have another victory up their sleeve, or will Homer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
