Softball Game Recap: Pioneer Valley Panthers vs. Clovis East Timberwolves

Pioneer Valley entered their contest against Clovis East on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Timberwolves, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ciena Acosta spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kamila Enriquez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases. Madelyn ?Mady? Llamas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-6.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 12-7. As for Clovis East, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-3-1.

Coming up, Pioneer Valley will take on Hanford at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clovis East, they will face off against Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
