Softball Game Preview: Lynden Christian Lyncs vs. Oak Harbor Wildcats

The Lynden Christian Lyncs will take on the Oak Harbor Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lynden Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Lynden Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Meridian get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Lyncs, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Oak Harbor unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 13-5 to Mount Vernon. Surprisingly, this marked the Wildcats' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Oak Harbor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla Suto, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Mia Regan was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Lynden Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Oak Harbor, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Lynden Christian took their win against Oak Harbor when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5 score. Do the Lyncs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
