Basketball Game Preview: Springer Red Devils vs. Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue

Springer hasn't had much luck against Roy/Mosquero recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Red Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Blue/Lady Blue at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Roy/Mosquero will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Springer extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Red Devils breezed past Maxwell to the tune of 86-51. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Red Devils had established a 27-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Roy/Mosquero faced Raton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Blue/Lady Blue blew past the Tigers 62-37. The Blue/Lady Blue's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Roy/Mosquero's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Springer, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Springer might still be hurting after the 62-38 loss they got from Roy/Mosquero when the teams last played back in February. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
