Devyn Grant Delivers Electric Performance Vs Fuquay - Varina

Starting off the list is Garner's Devyn Grant, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Grant rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 54 receiving yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 154 rushing yards dating back to last season.

The victory (which was Garner's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Grant and Garner will face off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jackson Byrd and Co. Win Eighth in a Row

Jackson Byrd's big game helped extend Cleveland's winning streak to eight on Friday. Southeast Raleigh had no answer to Byrd as he rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Those 121 rushing yards gave Byrd a new career-high.

Byrd might have his next game, a home matchup with Garner, circled on his calendar. When Byrd last faced the Trojans back in October of 2023, he threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in two rushing scores.

Southeast Raleigh came up short on Friday despite Damonte Garner delivering his best game to date. Garner picked up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.
