Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Heritage Academy lost against Arizona Lutheran Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Heritage Academy Heroes had to suffer through a 64-26 loss at the hands of the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes. While losing is never fun, the Heroes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Coyotes are ranked 106th).

Heritage Academy got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Danye Sypho and Jonathan Mccaine, who each put up five points.

Owen Beilke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Arizona Lutheran Academy, going 10 of 15 en route to 24 points and eight rebounds. Beilke is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cash Hill, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points.

Heritage Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-7.

Heritage Academy has already played their next matchup (against Horizon Honors), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Arizona Lutheran Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Fountain Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fountain Hills is on a four-game streak of home wins, Arizona Lutheran Academy a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
