Baseball Recap: Blanco Takes a Loss

After flying high against Somerset last Saturday, Blanco came back down to earth. The Blanco Panthers fell just short of the Lytle Pirates by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Blanco's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lytle, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Blanco will face off against Johnson City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Johnson City's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests. As for Lytle, they will challenge Fredericksburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fredericksburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Lytle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
