Soccer Game Preview: East vs. West

A classic East v. West matchup is on the schedule. The East Leopards will take on the West Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

West better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if East's game last Friday is any indication, that's when East really gets things going. The Leopards were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over Brighton. With that victory, East brought their scoring average up to 2.8 goals per game.

They hit Brighton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jorge Beltran (3), Teo Hummasti, and Alejandro Preciado.

Meanwhile, West came up short against Alta last Friday, falling 4-1. West were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

East pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four games. As for West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

East took their win against West in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Leopards since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
