Volleyball Recap: Morrill Lions vs. Potter-Dix Coyotes
Morrill was the 2-0 winner over Potter-Dix when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Morrill Lions fell just short of the Potter-Dix Coyotes by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Morrill sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 27-25.
Makayla Dykes and Katelyn Walker certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Dykes had seven digs and three aces, while Walker had 16 kills and 11 digs. The dominant performance gave Dykes a new career-high in aces.
Morrill's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Potter-Dix, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
