Baseball Game Preview: Orono Riots vs. Mount View Mustangs

The Orono Riots will head out on the road to take on the Mount View Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Orono's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Mount View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Monday just wasn't the day for Orono's offense. They fell just short of Dexter by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Riots were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Mount View, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past Maine Central Institute 12-1 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly 11 runs.

Orono's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mount View, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Orono suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Mount View when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Riots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
