Basketball Recap: Klawock Comes Up Short

If Klawock was riding high fresh off their 43-23 takedown of Hydaburg last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Klawock Chieftains came up short against Non Varsity Opponent on Monday, falling 42-17. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against Non Varsity Opponent this season, with their most recent defeat being a 44-40 loss back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Klawock lost, don't look at Keira Sanderson. Despite the final result, she posted six points in addition to 11 boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Sanderson a new career-high in blocks. Kendra Yates also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Klawock's loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
