Basketball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

Lexington suffered their biggest loss since January 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 75-42 defeat at the hands of the Salisbury Hornets. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lexington's loss came despite strong showings from Jaylen Henderson and Kamari McDonald. Henderson posted 14 points, while McDonald scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Holmes, who earned six points.

It was another big night for Braylon Taylor, who put up 17 points for Salisbury. Myles Smith was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Lexington's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-7. As for Salisbury, their win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lexington has already played their next game (against Thomasville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Salisbury will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
