Preview: Carlisle Indians vs. Franklin Wildcats
Carlisle is 1-8 against Franklin since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Carlisle Indians the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Franklin Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Carlisle ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Brookville with a 62-56 victory.
Meanwhile, Franklin came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 62-50 victory over Wilmington.
Carlisle pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Franklin, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Carlisle was able to grind out a solid win over Franklin when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 58-46. Does Carlisle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
