Softball Recap: Pike County Bulldogs vs. Straughn Tigers
After losing to Straughn the last time they met, Pike County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Tigers on Monday.

Taylor Trawick made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, Abigail Griffin was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Hailey Griffin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Pike County's win bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Straughn, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14.
Pike County has already played their next contest (against Daleville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Straughn, they will square off against New Brockton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Gamecocks at the right time seeing as the Gamecocks are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
