Volleyball Game Preview: San Pasqual Golden Eagles vs. El Camino Wildcats

The San Pasqual Golden Eagles will venture away from home to take on the El Camino Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games San Pasqual has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times San Pasqual and Fallbrook had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Golden Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

San Pasqual can attribute much of their success to Roman Saldivar, who had 14 digs and four aces, and Niles Palma, who had 30 digs and two aces. Those 14 digs gave Saldivar a new career-high.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when El Camino faced off against Valley Center on Wednesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jaguars. The Wildcats not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 3-0).

San Pasqual pushed their record up to 21-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for El Camino, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-19 record this season.

San Pasqual took their win against El Camino in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
