Basketball Preview: Northern Nash Knights vs. Nash Central Bulldogs
Northern Nash is 10-0 against the Bulldogs since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Northern Nash Knights will look to defend their home court against the Nash Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northern Nash has seven straight wins, the Bulldogs have three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Roanoke Rapids typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Northern Nash proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over the Yellowjackets. Northern Nash pushed the score to 46-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Yellowjackets cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Izeal Mallory II, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. CJ Rosser was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Nash Central suffered a tough 62-38 loss at the hands of the Gryphons on Friday.
Northern Nash is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Nash Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Northern Nash against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 76-47 win. Does Northern Nash have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
