Football Game Preview: Estrella Foothills Wolves vs. Cibola Raiders + Official Tickets

The Estrella Foothills Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Cibola Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Estrella Foothills is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Youngker on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolves lost 42-20 to the Roughriders. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Despite their loss, Estrella Foothills saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jacob Rawls, who picked up 183 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Mickey Raftery was another key signal caller, throwing for 317 yards and two TDs.

Meanwhile, Cibola slipped by Palo Verde Valley 7-6 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 159th in Arizona, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 777th in California).

The victory made it two in a row for Cibola and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Estrella Foothills, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
