Basketball Game Preview: Leon Cougars vs. Normangee Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Leon Cougars duke it out with the Normangee Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday... Leon is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Monday, Leon blew past Latexo, posting a 53-17 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Normangee can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They took down Centerville 44-27.

Leon is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Normangee, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16.

Everything came up roses for Leon against Normangee in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
