West Salem won the last time they faced Black River Falls and things went their way on Thursday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-3 victory. Considering the Panthers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Salem's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Black River Falls, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

West Salem and Black River Falls could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Panthers will face off against Waupun at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (106 vs. 34). Meanwhile, Black River Falls (ranked 234th) will meet Arcadia (ranked 113th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
