Cameron is a perfect 3-0 against Monroe Central since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Dragons will square off against the Seminoles at 5:00 p.m. Cameron is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
26 must be Cameron's lucky number: they beat Hundred with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Dragons beat the Hornets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 26-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dragons.
Billy Patterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs.

In other batting news, Cameron got a massive performance out of Wes Starcher, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Starcher is becoming a predictor of the Dragons' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Angel, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Cameron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Monroe Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madonna.
Monroe Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caedyn Silva, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Cameron's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Monroe Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cameron has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. It's a different story for Monroe Central, though, as they've only averaged .316. Will they be able to contain Cameron's hitters?
Cameron skirted past Monroe Central 6-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Seminoles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
