Softball Recap: Bandys Takes a Loss

Bandys was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Lincoln Knights. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Piper Barrymore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Bandys saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. What's more, Alexander posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Bandys' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Lincoln, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Bandys and North Lincoln will both be playing West Lincoln the next time they take the field. Bandys will head out to face West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while North Lincoln will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
