NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools recap Sept. 26, 2012
Charlotte Country Day extended the longest winning streak in NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools this week by beating Ravenscroft, 41-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Charlotte Country Day took down the Ravens 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Michael Radford threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 54 yards in the win.
Bob Witman's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jimmy Kleitches chipped in 104 yards. Byron Smith helped Charlotte Country Day's passing attack out by catching one ball for 67 yards.
Jack Shell made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Buccaneers bested Ravenscroft. The senior racked up two sacks.
Tripp Mulligan was the best wideout in the league this week as Charlotte Country Day topped Ned Gonet's team. Mulligan tallied one reception for 70 yards.
Charlotte Country Day's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Buccaneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Radford has thrown for 1037 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Thomas Jackson has 20 catches for 312 yards. Kleitches leads the league in rushing with 420 yards.
A big matchup in NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools this week will be when Charlotte Christian takes on Charlotte Latin. The Knights are currently in fourth, while the Hawks are in second.
The Buccaneers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on the Ravens. Radford in the win.
