Basketball Recap: Mellen Takes a Loss

Mellen lost against Washburn back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mellen Granite Diggers had to suffer through a 66-28 loss at the hands of the Washburn Castle Guards. The Granite Diggers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mellen's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Washburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Mellen is taking a road trip to square off against Winter at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Washburn, they will welcome Hurley at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
