Baseball Recap: Mabel-Canton Find Success

Mabel-Canton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Spring Grove Lions by a score of 4-0. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Spring Grove's batters probably weren't too happy with Kale Eiken, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up three walks). Eiken also allowed no hits, which is notable because Mabel-Canton is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 2-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaac Underbakke, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Milton Hutchinson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Mabel-Canton's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Spring Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Mabel-Canton will be playing at home against Hayfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spring Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Southland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
