Baseball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for East View

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but East View ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Elgin Wildcats 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since March 20th.

Josh O'Malley was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Lutey, who went 1-for-5 with one triple and one RBI.

East View's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-11-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Elgin, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-10-1.

Coming up, East View will take on Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Elgin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
