Softball Game Preview: Conway Wampus Cats vs. Cabot Panthers

The Conway Wampus Cats will head out to challenge the Cabot Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Conway comes in on three and Cabot on four.

On Wednesday, Conway beat North Little Rock 7-2.

Meanwhile, Cabot put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let Jonesboro get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Conway pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cabot, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Conway suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Cabot when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wampus Cats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
