Football Recap: Skyline Piles Up the Points Against Standley Lake

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skyline). They claimed a resounding 55-28 victory over the Standley Lake Gators. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 60-27 win the Gators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Servando Morales threw for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Logan Mault was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards.

Standley Lake's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Teagan Leighton and Jaden Epps. Leighton rushed for 94 yards and two TDs, while Epps gained 156 total yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 50 yards.

Skyline's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Standley Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Skyline and Standley Lake will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Falcons will take on rival Riverdale Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Standley Lake is set to challenge their familiar foe Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on October 10.
