Preview: Otsego Knights vs. Fostoria Redmen
The Otsego Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Fostoria Redmen at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Otsego is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, Otsego was the victim of a tough 55-33 defeat at the hands of Eastwood. Otsego has struggled against Eastwood recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Otsego's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sam Lehr, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, and Jocelyn Cornell who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Lehr scored a full 48.5% of Otsego's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Fostoria came up short against Eastwood on Tuesday and fell 57-50. While losing is never fun, Fostoria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while Eastwood is ranked 203rd).
Otsego's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Fostoria, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Otsego was dealt a bruising 65-13 defeat at the hands of Fostoria when the teams last played back in February. Can Otsego avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
