Basketball Recap: Oak City Prep's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Oak City Prep needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Amazin Dixon. The Bears managed an 88-82 victory over the Lake Raleigh Prep Academy Reapers on Tuesday with plenty of help from Dixon, who went 13-for-21 en route to 30 points and seven assists. His evening made it 26 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Tyieon Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Wilson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.

Oak City Prep's win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Oak City Prep will venture away from home to face off against Lab University Christian Academy Varsity at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will be up against the Kings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Lake Raleigh Prep Academy will be paying especially close attention to Oak City Prep's game: after Oak City Prep faces off against Fayetteville Christian, they'll take on Lake Raleigh Prep Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on December 22.
