Volleyball Recap: Liberty Falls Short of Batesburg-Leesville in the Playoffs

Liberty and Batesburg-Leesville squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Liberty had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Panthers. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-18 in the first set.

Liberty started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

McKenzie Dozier was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Liberty dropped their record down to 7-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-18-1 record this season.

Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Batesburg-Leesville has already played their next match (against Landrum), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
