Baseball Recap: Weiss Takes Down Randle in a Playoff Battle

Weiss had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Randle Lions on Thursday as they made off with a 21-7 victory. Considering the Wolves have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Amari Maxwell was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessie Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Weiss was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

The win was the 11th in a row for Weiss, bringing their record up to 21-6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Randle, they moved to 18-13-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Weiss will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
