Basketball Recap: Murphysboro Comes Up Short

If Murphysboro was feeling good fresh off their 77-34 takedown of Cairo last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Murphysboro Red Devils received a blow on Friday as they fell 52-33 to the Carterville Lions. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 58-47.

Murphysboro's loss dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Carterville, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-12.

As of now, neither Murphysboro nor Carterville have any future games scheduled.
