Basketball Game Preview: Timberlake Christian Tornadoes vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Lions

The Timberlake Christian Tornadoes will head out on the road to challenge the Dayspring Christian Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timberlake Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Timberlake Christian is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game back in December of 2024. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Christian Heritage Academy.

Timberlake Christian might have lost, but man, Jonathan Dowd was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Dowd's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Epps, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Timberlake Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Heritage Academy only pulled down five offensive boards.

Meanwhile, Dayspring Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Surry HomeSchool on Saturday and lost 50-36. The Lions have struggled against the Runnin' Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Timberlake Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Timberlake Christian and Dayspring Christian Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, but Timberlake Christian came up empty-handed after a 46-45 defeat. Can Timberlake Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
