Preview: Cedar Creek Cougars vs. St. Frederick Warriors
The Cedar Creek Cougars will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the St. Frederick Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Cedar Creek is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Cedar Creek was beaten by Lincoln Prep 73-41. While losing is never fun, Cedar Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Lincoln Prep is ranked 106th).
Cedar Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jake Doan, who scored 14 points along with six steals, and Connor Johnson who scored 11 points along with two steals. Doan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Bell, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, even though Ouachita Christian scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, St. Frederick still came out on top. St. Frederick walked away with an 80-69 victory over Ouachita Christian.
Cedar Creek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for St. Frederick, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
