Baseball Recap: Highlands Owls vs. Sam Houston Hurricanes
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brackenridge, Highlands was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sam Houston Hurricanes a 13-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won seven in a row.
Zaydin Rivera made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
