Basketball Game Preview: Silver Creek Raptors vs. Pomona Panthers

Two dominant guards in Luke Schmeeckle and Dj Hawkins are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Silver Creek Raptors just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Pomona Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Silver Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

On Friday, Silver Creek beat Skyline 66-56. The victory continues a trend for the Raptors in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Pomona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 71-47 to D'Evelyn. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Panthers, who fell 55-53 when the teams last met back in January of 2023.

Silver Creek will have to contain Hawkins as he made an impact in Pomona's last game. He posted 26 points along with five boards and three steals. The game was Hawkins' fourth in a row with at least 15 points.

Silver Creek's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Pomona, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Silver Creek strolled past Pomona in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 by a score of 62-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Silver Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
