Volleyball Recap: Gilmer Gets the Win

While Gilmer's victory against Pine Tree wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Buckeyes skirted past the Pirates 3-2. The Buckeyes haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Gilmer got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-15, 18-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-10.

Gilmer now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Pine Tree, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gilmer will challenge rival Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pine Tree is set to square off against their familiar foe Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
