Owen County has gone 9-1 against Carroll County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rebels will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Owen County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Owen County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Calvary Christian 10-0. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Connor Dezarn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Owen County is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise. Dezarn was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Trip Allnutt, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Owen County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Carroll County's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Oldham County, falling 12-6.
Like Owen County, Carroll County also got a great game from a two-way player: Bryce Furnish. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs Furnish has allowed since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dustin Battiglia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Lincoln Miller also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Carroll County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Owen County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Owen County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Carroll County struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Owen County's way against Carroll County when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Owen County made off with a 12-4 win. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
